If it feels like we were just doing this, that’s because we were.
On Sunday morning, ESPN announced that its flagship show, ‘College GameDay,’ will be headed to Salt Lake City to feature the marquee matchup between the Oregon Ducks and Utah Utes.
Just two weeks ago, ‘GameDay’ was up in Seattle to feature the top-10 showdown between Oregon and the Washington Huskies, which turned out to be one of the best games of the season.
It’s no surprise that ‘College GameDay’ is betting on the Ducks once again to provide some entertainment in one of the best matchups on the Week 9 slate.
The history between Oregon and Utah is not long, but it is certainly heated and has provided a lot of drama over the past few years. In 2021, Utah blew out the Ducks in the regular season and Pac-12 Championship game, leading to Mario Cristobal’s departure from the program. A year ago, it was Oregon who came back and got a gutty win at home over the Utes with a severely limited Bo Nix.
This game will now give us a team who is in prime position to make it to the Pac-12 title game in 2022, and potentially be in position for a spot in the College Football Playoff. It’s no surprise that this is where ‘GameDay’ wants to set up shop.
This will be the 30th time that Oregon has been featured on ‘College GameDay,’ and the 19th time it is featured while on the road. So how do the Ducks fare when ESPN comes to town for one of their games? Let’s take a look:
