The Buffalo Bills left London less healthy than they arrived.
During the team’s 25-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) in Week 5, the Bills (3-2) lost multiple players due to injury.
Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones suffered a pectoral injury while trying to sack Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. That didn’t seem to have much to do with the turf.
Matt Milano’s might have.
The expectation is that the linebacker will miss significant time due to a knee injury. There has yet to be an full update from the Bills (3-2), but head coach Sean McDermott was not optimistic.
“Not looking good,” the coach said.
Nearly added to that list was cornerback Taron Johnson. While defending, Johnson appeared to potentially hyperextend one knee then slammed down onto the turf with the other.
He did not hold back in Buffalo’s locker room when discussing the way he felt. Johnson said the field in London is an issue.
“I think that turn is terrible,” Johnson said. “Take that turf out, especially that one.”
Johnson’s candid thoughts can be found in the WROC-TV clip below:
Taron Johnson hammered the turf at Hotspur Stadium.
Said his foot stuck in the ground. That's why he got hurt. Also thinks it was a factor in other injuries today."That turf is terrible. Take it out."#Bills pic.twitter.com/TUt3XVwbUn
