Former Georgia receiver George Pickens had himself a day as he caught the game-winning 41-yard touchdown in the Steelers 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens. The clutch reception was one of six catches for Pickens. He totaled 130 yards and the late score was his lone touchdown.
The former Bulldog now brings his season total to 393 yards and two touchdowns. His production hasn’t taken off quite yet due to the Steelers offensive struggles as a whole. This could be the start of his official breakout campaign as the Steelers move to 3-2 in the early season.
Speaking of offensive struggles, former Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken struggled to get anything going today. Despite a tough day, Monken has adjusted to the NFL in a good way with a Ravens offense that ranks in the top half of most offensive categories such as 12th in points per game.
Multiple other Dawgs were involved in this game as the Steelers have rookies Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington. Jones made his first career start with an injury to the Steelers regular starter at tackle. Washington saw two targets, but didn’t make a catch.
