After Aaron Rodgers’ injury, it would’ve been easy to forget the offseason bad blood between the New York Jets and Denver Broncos. Instigated in large part by Sean Payton — who ripped Nathaniel Hackett’s coaching job with Denver in 2022 — the Jets made it clear they were very unhappy with the Broncos’ new leader.
On Sunday, the Jets finally had a chance to defend their current offensive coordinator’s honor when they visited the Mile High City. Via Yahoo Sports’ Nikki Edwards (@nikkiedwardsss), starting tight end C.J. Uzomah made a fiery pregame speech where it was pretty clear New York was intent on making Payton eat his harsh words.

Phew. If Payton thought the heat would be off him because the Jets no longer had their Hall of Fame quarterback under center, he was sorely mistaken. Stay tuned for what could be a chippy, tense affair in Denver.
