Jets inactives for Week 5 vs. Broncos: Carl Lawson, Mecole Hardman out

The Jets have announced their inactives for their Week 5 trip to the Mile High City against the Denver Broncos.

Both Carl Lawson and Mecole Hardman are out for Sunday’s game. Both have become very limited players, especially in the case of Hardman. The Jets elevated WR Irvin Charles from the practice squad, a sign the Jets were going to make Hardman a healthy scratch. Charles helps on special teams while Hardman does not.

Lawson has also fallen down the pecking order and may soon become a potential trade candidate with the trade deadline looming. He took a pay cut this offseason to stay with the Jets and now he is taking a playing time cut.

The other inactives were pretty much either known or have been consistent. CBs D.J. Reed (concussion) and Brandin Echols (hamstring) are out and the others are weekly scratches: LB Zaire Barnes, RB Israel Abanikanda and WR Jason Brownlee.

The Broncos inactives are RB Javonte Williams, C Alex Forsyth, LB Thomas Incoom, CB Fabian Moreau and S JL Skinner.
