The Texas Rangers (88-68) and the Los Angeles Angels (70-87) play the middle contest of a 3-game series Tuesday at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Rangers vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Rangers lead 6-5
The Rangers picked up a 5-1 win and cover as a favorite (-175) on the run line as the Under (9) cashed Monday night. Texas has won 6 in a row, as it maintains a 2 1/2-game lead in the AL West with just 6 games remaining, and a game in hand over the rival Houston Astros.
The Angels have long since been eliminated, sitting 17 games under .500 overall. L.A. is also just 35-41 at home, while winning just twice in the past 12 games overall.

Rangers at Angels picks and predictions
Prediction
Rangers 7, Angels 5
Moneyline
The RANGERS (-172) are a risky play at this price on the road, especially with a pitcher unlikely to go terribly deep into the game. However, the offense has been strong lately, averaging 7.5 runs per game during the 6-game win streak. Against a 3-10 pitcher, the conga line around the bases is likely to continue for Texas against the underdog Angels (+144).
Run line/Against the spread
The RANGERS –1.5 (-111) is worth a roll of the dice. Again, Detmers has been roughed up more often than not, including 1-4 with a 5.14 ERA in 11 starts since the All-Star break.
The high-octane Rangers offense has been hot, and Texas is on a mission. The Rangers’ magic number is 4 to win the division, and it will tick away some of that with another win Tuesday.
Over/Under
The OVER 9 (-105) is a decent play with a couple of shaky arms on the bump Tuesday.
Bradford won’t go deep into the game, while Detmers is allowing north of 5 runs per every 9 innings since the All-Star break. The Over is 4-2 in the past 6 games for the Rangers during the win streak, while the Over is also 4-2 in the past 6 outings for the Halos.
