The New York Giants (1-1) will visit the San Francisco 49ers (2-0) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Thursday night.
Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 10-point road underdogs and that’s only gotten worse. After jumping to +11 the spread is now +10.5 for the Giants as of this writing.
Let’s take a look at who some of the experts and insiders around the league are taking in the Week 3 matchup:
Expert | Pick | Score (if applicable) |
Dan Graziano (ESPN) | 49ers | N/A |
Matt Bowen (ESPN) | 49ers | N/A |
Seth Wickersham (ESPN) | 49ers | N/A |
Pete Prisco (CBS) | 49ers | 30-16 |
John Breech (CBS) | 49ers | 31-17 |
Jared Dubin (CBS) | 49ers | N/A |
Nate Davis (USA TODAY) | N/A | N/A |
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) | N/A | N/A |
Bill Bender (Sporting News) | 49ers | 31-17 |
Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News) | 49ers | 33-14 |
A week after they were picked to win unanimously, the Giants now find themselves on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Not only are none of the above experts taking Big Blue in Week 3, but none of them even anticipate the Giants keeping it within striking distance.
That trend continued outside of the above panel. According to NFL Pickwatch, 99 percent of all fans picked the 49ers as their lock to win on Thursday night. 100 percent of all experts also took San Francisco.
That’s about as lopsided as we’ve ever seen it.
