The Washington Commanders were down 21-3 to the Denver Broncos early in the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 2 matchup. Washington slowly fought back as quarterback Sam Howell found tight end Logan Thomas for a touchdown to make it 21-9. The Commanders went for the two-point conversion and converted.
After a defensive stand, Washington got one more opportunity before halftime, and Howell put the Commanders into position for a field goal as time expired. A 21-3 Denver lead was suddenly 21-14.
To open the third quarter, Washington defensive tackle Daron Payne had as dominant of a series as one defensive player could have, forcing a punt.
The Commanders were back on offense, and, this time, Howell found star wide receiver Terry McLaurin for his first touchdown of the season.
Check it out.

I am not sure what’s more impressive: The throw from Howell or the catch from McLaurin. Outstanding on both ends.
That connection tied the game for the Commanders.
