UFC Hall of Famer [autotag]Pat Miletich[/autotag] was arrested Thursday morning on his third drunken driving charge, just one month before his scheduled return to MMA.
Miletich, 55, was taken into custody by Bettendorf Police Department (Iowa), who responded to a call about a wrong-way driver. According to a report from KWQC, Miletich crossed an embankment and stopped at a Shell station. The police report stated the officer who arrived on the scene had to wake the driver and reminded him to put the idling vehicle in park.
Police stated Miletich refused all field sobriety tests, a blood tests and breathalyzer, although he admitted to drinking wine. Miletich smelled of alcohol and was reported as having bloodshot, watery eyes along with slurred speech and an unsteady balance. Fresh damage and vegetation was found on the front of Miletich’s vehicle, per the report.
According to Scott County online inmate records, Miletich was arrested for OWI (3rd Offense). He was booked at 6:16 a.m. local time, and released on a $5,000 bond at 7:59 a.m.
Miletich had two previous convictions for drunken driving; the first in March 2019 and the second in June 2021.
Miletich is expected to appear at a pre-fight press conference Thursday evening for his scheduled bout against fellow UFC veteran [autotag]Mike Jackson[/autotag]. The pair are set to headline Cage Aggression 36 on Saturday, Oct. 14 at River Center in Davenport, Iowa.
A source with knowledge of the situation told MMA Junkie on Thursday, Miletich’s arrest has not affected the scheduled bout.
