[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] should be announcing its 2024 plans for the No. 31 car soon while A.J. Allmendinger’s status in the NASCAR Cup Series remains uncertain at this time. While the organization has been able to keep the news that is coming tight-lipped, there has now been one specific driver linked to the race team’s Cup Series program in 2024.
According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, [autotag]Daniel Hemric[/autotag] is in the mix for a Cup Series ride with Kaulig Racing and appears to be “one of the top candidates.” On paper, this would not be a very shocking decision as Hemric is the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion and has experience in the Cup Series with 47 starts.
The driver of the No. 11 Xfinity car for Kaulig Racing has made Cup Series starts with the organization in the past. Hemric drove the No. 16 car on eight separate occasions in 2022 with a best finish of ninth place at Auto Club Speedway. If there are two rides available at the end of the day, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Hemric make the jump to the Cup Series in 2024.
