Week 3 AP Poll drops Alabama to No. 10 in the rankings

Alabama football remain in the top 10 after unfortunate loss to Texas

For the first time since the 2019 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide fell at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium. It was a poor showing by the Tide on both sides of the ball as the Longhorns left Tuscaloosa with a 34-24 victory. It is Nick Saban’s first home loss to a non-conference opponent since taking over as head coach.

Despite the double-digit loss, the Crimson Tide remains ranked inside the top 10 of the Week 3 AP Poll. The Tide dropped seven spots to No. 10, but still remain ranked above Tennessee if that is any sort of consolation. The Longhorns on the other hand skyrocketed all the way up to No. 4 in the newest rankings.

The Georgia Bulldogs hold onto the top spot after thumping Ball State, with Michigan and Florida State rounding out the top three.

All is not lost for Alabama as they still have a lot of football left to play. The Tide can still win out and find their way into the playoffs, but their margin for error is effectively zero now.
