After an exciting week two of college football action, the US LBM Coaches Poll was released on Sunday afternoon.
With several upsets within the top 25, including the No. 10 Texas Longhorns traveling to Tuscaloosa to upset the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide 34-24, there have been considerable changes from last week’s US LBM Coaches Poll.
The top five remains mostly the same from last week’s poll, with Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State standing pat at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4, respectively. The most significant change is the Alabama Crimson Tide dropping from No. 3 to No. 10 following the Crimson Tide’s loss to Texas on Saturday night. Florida State’s ascent continues, jumping Ohio State to get to No. 3 in the poll. At the same time, Southern California moved up one spot from No. 6 to No. 5. Texas moved up four spots from No. 10 to No. 6, jumping Penn State, Washington, and Tennessee in the process.
This week’s big winners outside of Texas include the Miami Hurricanes, jumping nine spots from being unranked to being ranked No. 23 after a big win over the Texas A&M Aggies. Duke and Colorado, now ranked No. 20 and No. 21, jumped up four spots from last week. While Iowa and UCLA make their first appearance in the poll this season at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.
