Texas A&M was well represented on Thursday night, as the 2022 Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Cheifs hosted the surging Detroit Lions, looked looked to play spoiler to open the 2023 NFL season in exciting fashion. Even though Mahomes had plenty of time to work his usual magic, Detroit’s defense took full advantage of future Hall Of Fame tight end Travis Kelce’s absence, escaping with an impressive 1-0 start in 2023.

As you all know, the Lions are led by former Aggie tight end Dan Campbell (1995-1998) in his third season as the Head Coach, while his defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn still holds several records during his time as a shutdown cornerback for the Aggies (1990-1994) and later, the New York Jets.
