[autotag]Kaulig Racing[/autotag] president Chris Rice provided a major update on the status of the No. 31 Cup car for the 2024 NASCAR season two weeks ago and said the plans for the entry are “pretty much done.” Rice continued by saying that everybody was going to be “surprised” about the news and that it was a couple of weeks away as they waited for the playoffs.
Well, the NASCAR playoffs have arrived and while there hasn’t been an announcement yet, the President of Kaulig Racing gave a new update. Rice jumped on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and discussed when the status of the No. 31 car will be known for the 2024 season.
“(Kaulig Racing)’s goal for the No. 31 car and everybody else is to try to have everybody some answers, and just let everybody know, somewhere in the next couple weeks, probably this week or next week,” Rice said. “It’s all done, everything is signed, sealed, and delivered, it’s just we’re waiting on one key piece that we need to finish it out. That is exciting in itself. The No. 31 car has been an exciting situation just because I think it has been the best-kept secret in the garage.”
The organization clearly has a surprising plan for the No. 31 car and it will be fascinating to find out the official news in the near future. Kaulig Racing has been one of the major storylines in NASCAR silly season after Justin Haley announced he would leave after 2023 and that will continue to be the case moving forward.
