[autotag]Stewart-Haas Racing[/autotag] has been one of the major stories of NASCAR silly season with Kevin Harvick retiring and Josh Berry taking his place in the No. 4 car for the 2024 season. Also, the organization has been mentioned as a candidate to sell some of its charters; however, the team has shut down that speculation as it focuses on a four-car lineup next year.
Another story to follow is Aric Almirola, who has a “very high chance” to walk away from the NASCAR Cup Series after the 2023 season. Several names have been linked to the No. 10 car, such as Michael McDowell, and Zane Smith, but another obvious target has been listed. FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass jumped on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and discussed the No. 10 car for 2024.

“When you talk about (Stewart-Haas Racing), don’t forget about Cole Custer,” Pockrass said. “He’s running well in the (NASCAR Xfinity Series), he has (NASCAR Cup Series) experience. If they need to or want to, I wouldn’t rule him out for a return to Cup.”
Custer currently sits fourth in the point standings with two wins so it is reasonable to suggest that he could be wasting his time in the Xfinity Series if he wants to be in the Cup Series. If Stewart-Haas Racing truly has an opening that it needs to fill, the driver of the No. 00 Xfinity car would be a very solid and experienced option.
