Week 1 of college football was anything but normal.
We saw some expected results – USC dominating Nevada (66-14), Washington winning comfortably against Boise State (56-19) and Notre Dame holding Tennessee to a field goal (56-3).
We also experienced some historic upsets – Colorado went into Fort Worth and scored a 45-42 upset over then 17-ranked TCU on Saturday afternoon, then, last night, Duke demolished Clemson in a 28-7, turnover-filled battle.
With all the craziness we experienced over the weekend, there was bound to be some movement in the weekly AP Poll.
There were some notable moves – UNC moved from 21st to 17th by taking care of South Carolina, fellow ACC squad Florida State moved into the Top 4 by demolishing LSU, while Duke hopped into the poll for the first time since 2018 after destroying Clemson. The Tigers should’ve dropped out of the poll, but they remain at 25.
Some fans are happy with the polls, while others are questioning it. That’s to be expected. Certain teams are too high, others are too low, while others frankly shouldn’t be in the poll at all.
Let’s take a look at several fan reactions to this week’s AP Poll, led by Georgia (top spot), Michigan (two), Alabama (three) and Ohio State (four):
