Wisconsin fans were excited to usher in a new era, and they made it known with the first season-opener sellout at Camp Randall in more than a decade.
According to UW, the attendance for Wisconsin’s 38-17 win over Buffalo was 76,224, the first sellout since 2009 when the Badgers took down Northern Illinois.
Wisconsin has won 27 of its last 28 home openers and hasn’t lost a nonconference home opener since 1995.
It was all about the running backs: Chez Mellusi and Braelon Allen combined for 297 yards on the ground to lead the way. The Badgers go on the road next week to take on Washington State as they look for redemption for last year’s loss.
