A Clemson defensive line commit showed up in his high school game on Friday.
Four-star defensive lineman Darien Mayo recorded at least two sacks Friday night, one of which was a strip-sack fumble recovery, in a resounding win over the Jones Fightin’ Tigers.
Mayo is the No. 25 defensive lineman prospect and No. 213 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He committed to the Tigers in June.
The Olney, Maryland native said in a postgame interview that he will visit Clemson for one of its home games this season, possibly when the Tigers host Florida State on Sept. 23.
