Tennessee kicked off its 2023 soccer regular-season on Thursday. The 2023 season is Tennessee’s second under head coach Joe Kirt.
The Lady Vols defeated California, 4-1, at Regal Soccer Stadium.
Kate Runyon, Sarah Greiner, Maria Nelson and Kameron Simmonds scored goals for Tennessee in the contest.
With Thursday’s win, Tennessee improves its record in season openers to 19-8-1. The Lady Vols are 15-3-1 when opening a season at home.
The Lady Vols will next play Lipscomb on Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. EDT. Tennessee’s next home match will take place Aug. 24 versus East Tennessee State at Regal Soccer Stadium (7 p.m. EDT).
