Wide receiver Garrett Wilson made an immediate impact for the New York Jets as a rookie in 2022, being named the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year. Below, we look at Garrett Wilson‘s 2023 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Believing that last year’s Jets team was just a QB away from making the playoffs, New York brought in a future Hall-Of-Fame QB to remedy that. Even with 3 different QBs starting in 2022, Wilson put up great rookie numbers, and with Aaron Rodgers now throwing him the ball, those numbers are expected to be even better.

Another outstanding rookie for New York last year was CB Sauce Gardner, who was named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. Another year of going head-to-head against Gardner in practice will also help Wilson improve, and you’ll see it in his numbers this year.

Garrett Wilson’s ADP: 21.78

(ADP data courtesy of MyFantasyLeague.com; last updated at time of this publishing – ADPs continually change as more drafts occur)

Wilson’s ADP projects him being drafted in the middle-late 2nd round for most leagues. He ranks 9th in ADP among WRs, a little low given the addition of Rodgers, but still good value for his production. Indications are that Wilson and Rodgers have a strong connection so far, another reason to expect an even better sophomore year than his rookie season.

Taking Wilson early in the 2nd round isn’t a big reach if some other top WR1’s are already off the board. Right above in ADP is Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown at No.  8 (17.42) with Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams 10th (21.68). Taking Wilson over either of them is not a stretch, as  WR Jameson Williams will get a lot of looks in the Lions offense and there are questions about Adams’ connection to new QB Jimmy Garropolo.

Where should you draft Wilson?

Wilson’s fantasy value will obviously get a boost with the addition of Rodgers.

There are about 7-9 WRs I would draft ahead of Wilson, but he is a very good WR1 option for a lot of fantasy teams. The Jets have a lot of versatility in their offense with Rodgers and return of 2nd-year RB Breece Hall from injury, but Wilson will still be the biggest threat in the passing game.

In most leagues Wilson will be a very good WR1 who should be available in the 2nd round for teams taking a RB or TE in Round 1. If you are in a bigger league, say 14 teams, and Wilson is available as an early 2nd-round pick; do not hesitate to grab him. He and Rodgers will have a great connection that will result in a lot of targets.
