Parris Campbell says Giants offense will keep opponents guessing

New York Giants WR Parris Campbell says Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka are “gurus” and Big Blue’s offense will keep defenses guessing in 2023.

New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell believes the team’s offense will be dangerous in 2023.

After four years in Indianapolis, Campbell will now take his talents to East Rutherford as he joins a 2022 playoff team in the Giants. New York’s defense led the way last season but now in 2023, their offense looks scary with their new additions.

Adding speedsters at their position in Campbell, Jalin Hyatt, and Darren Waller to pair with players who are already some of the fastest at their position (Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, and Darius Slayton) makes this offense something to be feared.

Campbell raved about the team’s speed throughout positional groups on Monday.

“Yeah, this is definitely probably the fastest total complete group that I’ve played with in my career. I mean, we’ve got speed all across the board,” Campbell told reporters. “It’s speed that can do a lot of different things. It’s not just guys running in a straight line fast, it’s ball in the hands fast. In their routes fast. We complement each other. I’m excited for what’s to come.”

The team will also see great route runners returning from injury like Wan’Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard, making their receiving corps extremely deep.

With all this talent Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka will surely be drawing up some exotic plays to keep defenses guessing. They have already been running some sets with Campbell carrying the ball out of the backfield. The newly signed receiver said even he has had a tough time getting up to speed with all of the wrinkles in the offense.

“Dabs and Kaf(ka), man, they’re offensive gurus,” he said. “They really know what they’re doing. Dabs has so much in his arsenal, he wants to always keep the defense guessing. So, we’ve got a lot of different plays, a lot of different things to learn. Shoot, it’s tough for me. I’m a free agent signing, it’s tough for me.”

Daboll and Kafka have had a lot of success in their career with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, respectively. Last year we saw some of that success rub off on Jones and the offense as the Giants had their best season in years. Now in Year 2, big things can be expected from these “offensive gurus.”
