Breaking: Edd Guerrier commits to Rutgers football

Florida running back Edd Guerier commits to Rutgers football.

Florida running back Edd Guerrier has committed to Rutgers football on Sunday night. The Florida athlete, a member of the 2024 class, committed to the program shortly after being offered by the program over the weekend.

A 5-foot-9 and 192-pound running back, Guerrier plays for Port Charlotte High School (Port Charlotte, FL). Last season in 10 games played, he had 1,450 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns. He averaged 7.7 yards per carry.

He becomes the second running back commitment this offseason, joining four-star Gabriel Winowich as part of the 2024 class.

Guerrier is a physical, powerful running back who has a running style reminiscent of Ray Rice, the former Rutgers running back who had a strong NFL career that included three Pro Bowl appearances.

Offered by Lousiville in March, Guerrier posted his commitment on Sunday night:

Guerrier is a hard and physical runner, who combines power with some impressive speed once he reaches the second level. He shows good attributes of being patient in the backfield and then getting to another level once he hits the open field.

He also has decent hands, with 19 catches for 282 yards and a touchdown during his three seasons of high school football.
