The 2024 five-star Edge Colin Simmons recruiting battle is finally near the finish line. However, for Texas A&M, it’s time to move on and focus on the rest of the remaining Edge prospects in the cycle as LSU, Miami, and, yes, the Texas Longhorns are the lone programs to make his final Top 3 program list.
According to 247Sports Composite, Simmons is currently positioned as the 8th-ranked player in the 2024 class, the No.1-ranked Edge prospect, and the No.1-ranked player in Texas. Although Miami is still in the fight, LSU and Texas are in stiff competition, while the Tigers remain the leaders with a 57.1% chance to land Simmons, while receiving the vaunted Steve Wiltfong Crystal Prediction to boot.

Standing at 6-3 and 225 pounds, strength, bend, and speed to power define Simmons’s ability as a pass rusher, and like most high-end athletes coming out of the high school ranks, he’ll quickly develop his pass rush arsenal as soon as he enters a collegiate program. Good luck Colin!
