Jaguars 2023 roster review: OT Walker Little

Walker Little is expected to begin the year as the starting left tackle for the Jaguars. Is he up for the task?

The brunt of the offseason is in the books and training camp is coming soon. Join us in the NFL’s dead zone with a player-by-player review of the Jaguars roster ahead of the 2023 season.

Second-round draft picks are overwhelmingly used to select players who see starting opportunities early in their NFL careers. But heading into his third season, Walker Little still hasn’t been assured a starting role with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Little, 24, started three games as a rookie and three in his second season. Both of those stints were to replace Cam Robinson due to injury, and Little is expected to start in lieu of Robinson again in 2023.

With Robinson due to serve a four-game suspension to begin the year, Little is presumed to be the Jaguars’ temporary starting left tackle. And with Jacksonville able to recoup nearly $18 million in cap space during the 2024 offseason by parting with Robinson, it seems likely that Little is the long-term solution at left tackle as well.

The mystery for now is what the Jaguars due in Weeks 5-18 after Robinson returns.

Contract (2023): $1,599,323 base salary, $725,764 prorated signing bonus, $100,000 workout bonus, $2,425,087 cap hit.

Acquired: Little was the No. 45 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Quote: “We haven’t really talked at all about where guys are starting, where we’re going to be placed. I just want an opportunity to play. That’s what any player wants on the team. I’ll get a chance in training camp and hopefully I can play well, prove myself, and earn a starting spot.” – Little
