There is a heavy sense of doubt surrounding this 2023 Alabama football team. Just two seasons ago, the Tide appeared in a national title game. Last season, Alabama finished the season as a top-five team and won the Sugar Bowl. Nick Saban and his program are overdue for a record-breaking season.
The upcoming season poses its fair share of challenges for the Crimson Tide. A tough home game against Texas will be a big test in Week 2. Then there’s the difficulty of facing an SEC schedule.
Patrick Conn of College Sports Wire believes that other programs aren’t buying into the doubt. Conn has Alabama listed as one of the few teams in the nation that has a target on its back.
“Nick Saban has been the king of college football ever since returning Alabama to their former glory,” writes Conn. “He guided the Tide to six national titles since his return to the collegiate game in 2007. Because of his success, every team will give them their best shot.”
Alabama’s season begins on Sept. 2 against Middle Tennessee at home in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
