Grant WIlliams on his final season with the Boston Celtics

A recent Boston Globe interview came out as the Charlotte native’s first admission of tension between himself and Mazzulla began to spread as well.

Former Boston Celtics forward Grant Williams recently said he looks back at his behavior early in his final Celtics season as unprofessional, and that he and Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla were close before professional disagreements last season, though he’ll always love his former Celtics coach.

A recent Boston Globe interview contained the Charlotte native’s first admission of tension between himself and Mazzulla, who put him on the bench for most of the second half of the 2022-23 NBA season. Williams joined the Dallas Mavericks via a free agent sign and trade deal in early July.

CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning sat down to talk about that interview, reflect on the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League and discuss Celtics guard Jay Scrubb signing a two-way deal for the 2023-24 season.
