NFL fans predictably had jokes for the first look of Aaron Rodgers in a Jets uniform

It’s real now.

We’re still a couple weeks away from the Jets’ first preseason game — a matchup with the Browns in the Hall of Fame Game — but they didn’t wait long into the start of training camp to get a look at their new quarterback in full game-day attire.

The Jets acquired future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Packers back in April, bringing a close to Rodgers’ 18-year run in Green Bay.

Now, Rodgers never looked great in a football uniform. There was something about his oversized helmet, loose sleeves and overall look that had him ranked last in our 2020 QB aesthetic rankings. But it was especially jarring to see Rodgers in a Jets uniform.

On the opening day of training camp, the Jets tweeted a photo of Rodgers — who is opting to wear No. 8 instead of Joe Namath’s retired No. 12 — in his full uniform, and it will take some getting used to.

But hey, it’s not like he went to a team with a completely different color scheme than Green Bay. He’s trading green for a darker shade of green.

That didn’t stop NFL fans from making jokes about the photo. It was like Rodgers’ first day of school except, well, he’s a 39-year-old in football pads.
