Buffalo Bills fan Jason Guenther had an experience of a lifetime. One we can easily predict likely won’t happen again.
Guenther shared an incredible story on social media via his Facebook page. He explained how he he ran into Bills head coach Sean McDermott in the Atlanta airport during a layover.
As can happen.. flight delayed then canceled. Both for McDermott and Guenther.
Guenther then explained the story that unfolded.
After striking up a conversation with the coach, who was in Atlanta for his daughter’s softball tournament, they agreed to a plan. Flight to Buffalo was canceled, so team up, fly to Pittsburgh, and drive home from there.
Yes, it really happened. Guenther shared this photo to social media along with sharing a description of their adventure:
Guenther told the Buffalo News that he was dropped off at home by McDermott at around 2:40 a.m. in West Seneca. He offered to split the rental car but McDermott declined.
Guenther’s full story he shared on social media can be found below:
Today was a day I’ll never forget, flying back from North Carolina to Buffalo, my layover flight from Atlanta Georgia to Buffalo was canceled…with nothing else available, it was looking like i was spending the night in Georgia. However, I ran into Sean McDermott, who is the head coach of the Buffalo Bills. I had met him a few times before, so we started talking. He was in Atlanta with his daughter Maddie, for her softball showcase. Since our flight was canceled and both of us just wanted to get home…we decided to book a flight from Atlanta to Pittsburgh, rent a car and then drive from Pittsburgh to Buffalo. I’ll never forget that 3 plus hour drive. I knew Sean was a great coach, but tonight proved it, he’s a regular guy who has an amazing take on coaching and comes to find out we share all the same philosophys. He said that I have a great mindset and at such a young age already have a great understanding for coaching. Still in disbelief. Wow just wow…unreal, everything happens for a reason….thankful and blessed..humbled and hungry. He loved my saying… Never forget where you came from but never let people tell you where you can go in life…
