4-star IOL Preston Taumua announces commitment decision

The Oregon Ducks were unable to add to their haul of offensive linemen in the class of 2024, missing out on a commitment from 4-star interior OL Preston Taumua on Sunday night.

Taumua, who is rated by 247Sports as the No. 11 IOL and No. 207 overall player in the 2024 class, announced that he would be committing to the Nebraska Cornhuskers instead.

Taumua is rated as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Hawaii.

After a successful visit to Eugene earlier in the year, it was thought that the Ducks were in a great position to land Taumua, and they were considered the favorites for quite a while. However, over the past few weeks, predictions have started pouring in for Taumua to end up with the Cornhuskers, so the announcement on Sunday night did not come as a surprise.

The Ducks currently have the No. 8 class in the nation, with a handful of offensive line commitments and several more still left on the table that could come in the following weeks and months.
