The Chicago Bulls are in a weird spot this summer. After missing the postseason this past season, some saw a team that could blow up the roster. Instead, the Bulls pushed forward. They added Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig, bolstering their depth in an attempt to form a competitive roster.
With all the rumblings they could be a potential seller, Zach LaVine‘s name has been thrown around in trade rumors. Reports indicate the Bulls had at least considered the possibility of trading LaVine. But LaVine doesn’t think he’s going anywhere.
During a chat with NBC Sports Chicago, LaVine stated he doesn’t think he’ll get traded this summer, also noting his love for Chicago.
“I always rep my city whichever team I’m playing for to the best,” LaVine said. “And Chicago’s loved me and called me one of their own since I’ve been there. I don’t see anything happening anytime soon. But if it does, Chicago always has my love.”
At the same time, LaVine understands that the NBA is a business, so if he does get traded, he gets it.
“I’ve been with the Bulls for seven years. I’ve had my name in trade talks,” LaVine said. You don’t love it, but you understand the business. I’ve been traded before, so you understand it.”
LaVine, a two-time All-Star, received a massive extension from the Bulls last year. There’s a chance they could still look to trade him, but it seems like Chicago is committed to their star for the time being.
