Despite trading away a handful of assets to acquire the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, which was eventually used on [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag], the Carolina Panthers have been able to surround Young with a rather talented nucleus.
One of the key pieces the Panthers had to move in order to land the former Alabama QB was a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver in DJ Moore, who would have been a great piece for Young to lean on early on. Instead, they signed Adam Thielen of the Vikings and D.J. Chark who was with the Lions last season as well as retaining Terrace Marshall Jr and Laviska Shenault. Carolina also used their second-round pick on Ole Miss WR Jonathan Mingo who will be a great young talent for the organization.
According to social media, Young was spotted at the SMU football facilities in Dallas for the 4th of July weekend working out with his Panthers receiving core. Marshall, Thielen, Chark, and Shenault can all be seen running routes for the rookie quarterback well ahead of the start of training camp.
The Panthers will open their season on Sept. 10 as they travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in Young’s first NFC South game.
Looks like Bryce Young, Terrace Marshall Jr, Adam Thielen, DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault are at SMU putting in work today.
