Tennessee’s Tobe Awaka scores seven points in FIBA U19 World Cup finale.

Team USA (5-2) finished in fourth place in the FIBA U19 World Cup.

Turkey defeated Team USA, 84-70, in a third place game Sunday in Debrecen, Hungary.

Tennessee’s Tobe Awaka recorded seven points, 13 rebounds and one steal versus Turkey. He converted 3-of-8 field goal attempts and 1-of-2 free throw attempts.

Awaka averaged 11.6 points per game and was Team USA’s second leading scorer. He averaged 10.6 rebounds per contest and was the tournament’s second leading rebounder.

Awaka appeared in 34 games as a freshman for the Vols during the 2022-23 season. He averaged 3.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game last season.
