One coach thinks Texas can be ‘scary good’ if Quinn Ewers progresses

When’s the last time Texas was scary good?

The biggest question surrounding Texas ahead of the 2023 college football season is whether or not Quinn Ewers can live up to the hype of his ranking.

This past season he underwhelmed thereofore wasn’t utilized as much, as the offense relied much more on the run game. Some people even began to question if there was a case to be made for Hudson Card to start over him.

However, this entire offseason has been nothing short of spectacular for Ewers. He has transformed his body, his approach, and has capitalized on every opportunity to get better.

While the hype around Texas continues to skyrocket, one anonymous coach told Athlon Sports that he believes that Ewers will be the difference for Texas in 2023.

“They could get scary good if Quinn (Ewers) plays the way he’s capable of. They’re really close to connecting it all on offense and playing up to that standard of a Sark team.”

The biggest issues for Ewers last season was his accuracy on the deep ball and his footwork appeared sloppy. Both things that he has improved upon this offseason, which is why people continue to buy into the narrative that 2023 is Texas’ year.
