One of the main storylines from the 2020 NFL draft was the Philadelphia Eagles passing on Justin Jefferson for Jalen Reagor. That allowed the Minnesota Vikings to select Jefferson with the very next pick at No. 22.
Ironically, Reagor is now also a Viking.
But what would have happened if the Eagles went with the bona fide stud in Jefferson instead of the speed of Reagor?
CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson asked former Vikings general manager Rick Spielman for his thoughts on the hypothetical situation on the “With the First Pick” podcast.
If Justin Jefferson went to the #Eagles at 21, Brandon Aiyuk would’ve been the #Vikings selection at 22.

Spielman said that if Jefferson had not been there, the next option could have been WR Brandon Aiyuk. In the end, the San Francisco 49ers traded up with the Vikings to select Aiyuk at 25th overall. The former general manager stated that his traits athletically mirrored those of Stefon Diggs, whom the Vikings traded to the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2020 draft.
