Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Dodgers vs. Rockies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Dodgers lead 2-0

The Dodgers suffered a 6-5 setback Sunday in their series finale against the Houston Astros, although Los Angeles took 2 of 3 games in a rematch of the controversial 2017 World Series. L.A. has won 4 of the past 5 games overall but remains in 3rd place in the NL West, 3 games back of the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Rockies won 2 of 3 games from the other Los Angeles area team over the weekend, although the Angels outscored them 32-12 in the series. That’s because the Halos won Saturday’s game by a 25-1 count. The Rockies are just 2-9 in the past 11 games overall.

Dodgers at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Dodgers 6, Rockies 4

Moneyline

The Dodgers (-300) are a very risky play in this series opener considering you’d be laying 3 times your potential return on the road against a team that played them tough last season.

However, the way Colorado (+240) has played recently and the fact it is facing the southpaw Kershaw, means the Rox cannot be trusted either.

PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

The ROCKIES +2.5 (+105) are worth playing very, very lightly. It’s mostly based on the fact Kershaw has been fairly mortal on the road this season, while keeping in mind that Colorado played Los Angeles tough last season. Back the Rox, but don’t get carried away.

Over/Under

UNDER 12 (-110) is the play, although going low on totals at Coors Field is always a risky proposition.

The Under is 4-0-2 in Los Angeles’ past 6 road games and is 3-1-1 in its last 5 series openers. The Under is also 3-0-1 in the Dodgers’ last 4 games on the road against a right-handed starting pitcher.

The Under has cashed at a 4-1 clip in the past 5 games at Coors for the Rockies and is 4-1 in their last 5 games inside the division. The Under is also an impressive 12-3-1 in their past 16 tries against a left-handed starting and 5-1 in their last 6 in this series.
