Report: Bulls want young player, multiple firsts in Zach LaVine trade

As the Chicago Bulls explore all options, they are reportedly looking for a hefty haul in a potential Zach LaVine trade.

This summer will be a crucial one for the Chicago Bulls, who currently find themselves in no man’s land in the middle of the Eastern Conference. It’s not a great place to be in, but they seem content with running back the same core and trying to improve heading into next season.

However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t exploring their options. Recent rumblings indicated that they have at least looked into the idea of trading Zach LaVine, gauging the interest of other teams around the league. Now, according to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, the Bulls want a hefty haul for LaVine.

Johnson reported that the Bulls want a good young player and multiple first-round picks or a high-end player in exchange for LaVine.

“One league source said the Bulls would be focused on getting a good young player, multiple first-round picks and salary filler if they decide to trade LaVine,” Johnson wrote. “Another said one first-round pick and an established, high-end player might be sufficiently intriguing.”

LaVine is a two-time All-Star but failed to reach that goal this past season. The Bulls inked him to a fresh contract extension last summer that will have him under contract through the 2026-27 season with a player option in that final year.

Depending on the teams interested in LaVine, they could field offers close to what they are reportedly looking for. Teams like the Miami Heat and New York Knicks could be teams to keep an eye out for, as they both could offer packages similar to what the Bulls are looking for.
