Todd Bowles on Devin White attending minicamp today but not practicing: "It's not a hold-in. We like to see where he is physically." Said it's different with Lavonte David (who practiced today) because he's been around more during voluntary workouts in recent weeks.

LB [autotag]Devin White[/autotag] is not practicing at mandatory minicamp in the midst of a contract dispute, but HC [autotag]Todd Bowles[/autotag] is setting the record straight.
Bowles spoke to media after the first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and as reported by FOX Sports’ Greg Auman, he said that White isn’t “holding in” — a term used to describe a player in a contract dispute who shows up to camp to avoid a fine but does not participate. Instead, Bowles explained that the team wants to check on White’s physical health after he didn’t attend OTAs.
“It’s not a hold-in,” Bowles said. “We like to see where he is physically.”
Bowles position on this matter is somewhat interesting given the surrounding circumstances. C Ryan Jensen, for instance, is back practicing at mandatory minicamp after recovering from a torn ACL last season and was spotted with a brace on his knee at OTAs where he also didn’t practice. Other players that aren’t participating are limited by injury, such as EDGE Shaq Barrett and WR Russell Gage, so White being possibly the only healthy player who isn’t participating could raise some interesting questions.
Mandatory minicamp began Tuesday and will conclude on Thursday.
