The Washington Commanders opened rookie minicamp Friday with one prominent absence. Second-round pick, defensive back Jartavius “Quan” Martin, missed the rookie minicamp due to a personal issue but will return to the team next week.
However, the rest of Washington’s six 2023 NFL draft selections participated, including first-round pick Emmanuel Forbes. Forbes opened his NFL career on a strong note, picking off a pass in practice that could’ve gone the distance had it not been blown dead.
While the rookie minicamp took a backseat to the other news surrounding the team — Dan Snyder reached a deal to sell the team to Josh Harris — it was an opportunity to see Forbes in a Washington uniform for the first time.
We’ve gathered some of the top images from the first day of Commanders’ rookie minicamp Friday.
