After the Golden State Warriors handed out a blowout win in Game 2 to even the series, it was the Los Angeles Lakers’ turn on Saturday night in Game 3.
Following dominant second and third-quarter performances from the Lakers paired with cold shooting from the Warriors, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell helped Los Angeles grab a 2-1 series lead behind a 127-97 win in Game 3.
When reflecting on the Game 3 loss in his postgame presser, Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson admitted the Warriors “got punked” by the Lakers on Saturday night.
Being mentally tougher and coming together as a team rather than splintering. Monday is a great opportunity for us to show what we’re about, hopefully, our toughness. We are a very tough team and we got punked tonight, unfortunately, on the boards, on the glass, at the free-throw line. It’s on us to watch the film, dissect it, and be better.

Thompson struggled in Game 3, scoring 15 points on 5-of-14 from the field to go along with 3-of-9 from beyond the arc. Thompson also tacked on a postseason career-high six turnovers against the Lakers on Saturday.
The Warriors will need Thompson to bounce back in Game 3 to avoid falling down 3-1 in the second-round series. Game 4 is set for 7 p.m. PT in Hollywood on Monday night.
