No. 12 Arkansas (36-14, 12-8 SEC) defeated No. 4 Tennessee (39-6, 17-3 SEC), 6-4, Sunday at Bogle Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
With the win, Arkansas tied the series and ended the Lady Vols’ nine-game winning streak.
Arkansas scored all of its runs on home runs.
Kacie Hoffmann gave the Razorbacks a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the second inning.
The Lady Vols tied the game in the fifth inning with a two run double by Zaida Puni, scoring Amanda Ahlin and Brylee Mesusan.
Cylie Halvorson hit a three-run home run for a 5-2 Arkansas lead. Kristina Foreman hit a solo home run to extend Arkansas’ advantage to, 6-2.
Tennessee scored two runs in the seventh inning as McKenna Gibson and Puni each drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Puni was 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Lady Vols.
