Rams select TCU CB Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson with 182nd overall pick

The Rams waited until the sixth round to take a defensive back, but they added a good one in Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson

With their first of two picks in the sixth round, the Los Angeles Rams selected TCU cornerback Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlins at No. 182 overall.

They waited a while before addressing the secondary but they add a talented, yet undersized cornerback with Hodges-Tomlinson. He’s the nephew of Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who also attended TCU before starring for the Chargers in the NFL.

Hodges-Tomlinson was last season’s Jim Thorpe Award winner, which is given to the best defensive back in college football. He led the Big 12 with 18 pass breakups and only allowed a completion rate of 34.6% in coverage despite being targeted 81 times.

At 5-foot-8 and 178 pounds, there’s no denying that he’s undersized, but he’s an athletic and quick cornerback who can play inside or out.
