Just a few short picks after offensive linemen Tyler Steen was selected, Alabama defensive linemen Byron Young becomes the sixth former member of the Crimson Tide to be selected in the 2023 NFL draft. Picking up Young at No, 70 overall is the Las Vegas Raiders.
Young was a solid force along the Alabama defensive line for the past four seasons and wracked up a total of 20 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Young will not wow you with any of his physical traits, but he is a rock-solid third-round pick for the Raiders and will likely have a long and productive NFL career.
Congratulations and best of luck to Byron as he moves on to the NFL!
