Cardinals have 4 picks on Day 2 of draft

After an evening of trades in Round 1, the Cardinals will have four picks in the second and third rounds, only one that was originally theirs.

The Arizona Cardinals were active on Day 1 of the 2023 NFL draft. They completed three trades and made one player selection, taking Ohio State offensive lineman Paris Johnson sixth overall in the draft.

Their first trade was to settle improper contact general manager Monti Ossenfort had with head coach Jonathan Gannon when he was still the defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles.

They traded back from the No. 3 pick in the draft to the No. 12 pick. Then they traded up to the No. 6 overall pick to select Johnson.

Entering Day 2, they have four picks. One is in the second round and three are in the third round.

Arizona Cardinals’ Day 2 selections

  • Round 2, pick 2 (No. 33 overall – received from Texans)
  • Round 3, pick 18 (No. 81 overall – received from Lions)
  • Round 3, pick 31 (No. 94 overall – received from Eagles)
  • Round 3, pick 33 (No. 96 overall – compensatory)

They will have the second pick of the day and then have to wait nearly 50 selections to make their next pick.

They will then have three selections in the next 16.

Barring any trade, they will be active early and then late on Day 2.
