The 2023 NFL draft has arrived and the Iowa Hawkeyes again have a hearty presence in it. A handful of Hawkeyes will find their new homes this weekend and join the Iowa to the NFL pipeline that is flowing very strong under head coach Kirk Ferentz.
The first Hawkeye off the board will likely be defensive end Lukas Van Ness in the first round as he has shot up draft boards due to his size and athleticism which is ideal for NFL teams to mold. Linebacker Jack Campbell and tight end Sam LaPorta could see themselves in the first round but should hear their names no later in the second round as they are anticipated to be starters wherever they land.
Two late-round steals that will make teams very happy include cornerback Riley Moss and safety Kaevon Merriweather. The two are experienced and intelligent players that can instantly upgrade a team’s secondary.
Here’s an NFL draft milestone that the Hawkeyes can cross this weekend along with a quick guide on how and when to watch the NFL draft.
