Twitter Reaction: Dillon Brooks calls out LeBron James, draws endless ridicule on social media

Dillon Brooks called LeBron James old and said he wishes he could have guarded him in his prime. Twitter didn’t like it.

Have you ever known Dillon Brooks shy away from controversy?

In fact, have you ever known Dillon Brooks to not actively seek the controversy, throwing out asinine statements and being — for lack of a better word — borderline obnoxious at points?

That was the Dillon Brooks that we saw again on Wednesday night, as the former Oregon Duck star once again found himself drawing ire from the large majority of social media users after his comments directed toward LeBron James.

Brooks and the Memphis Grizzlies beat LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers in the second game of the first-round NBA playoff series, and Brooks was feeling brash and confident in the minutes after. Whether it was calling James, arguably the greatest player in NBA history, ‘old’ or saying that he wishes he could have played LBJ in his prime because it would have been a harder challenge, Brooks put on a master class in terms of being a heel.

As you would expect, the comments did not go over particularly well in the NBA Twitter world. Here are some of the best reactions.
