[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag]’s tough task of filling out Notre Dame’s roster for the 2023-24 season officially has begun. One target on the Irish’s radar was Northwestern guard [autotag]Julian Roper II[/autotag]. Consider that target officially hit as Roper announced his decision to join the Irish:

Roper started 15 of 29 games during his freshman season with the Wildcats but came off the bench in all 15 games he played during this past season. His season was cut short by an ankle injury, and all he could do was watch his team accumulate one big win after another during one of the biggest seasons in program history. That included the Wildcats’ second NCAA Tournament berth.
In 44 games with the Wildcats, Roper averaged 4.1 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 37.7% from the field. Whether he can improve on that with the Irish could depend on who else the program can lure from the transfer portal. With the program needing to apply bandage after bandage just to field a team, unpredictability is king.
