The Cincinnati Bengals had another virtual meeting, this time with CB Lance Boykin from Coastal Carolina, according to Justin Melo of The Draft Network.
Boykin is 6’2”, 200 pounds, and uses his size to be physical in the secondary to try to mess with a receiver’s timing and projects better in man coverage.
Boykin had a career-high of 10 broken-up passes and two interceptions in his final season with the Chanticleers.
Eli Apple and Tre Flowers are still free agents, and even with the signing of Sidney Jones the Bengals have had their eyes on a lot of different cornerbacks before the draft.
The Bengals interest in attacking the secondary in the draft is very obvious at this point, and with only two weeks to go, it seems likely to be how they use one of their picks.
.@CoastalFootball CB Lance Boykin is underrated. Boykin had 10 PBUs + 2 INTs in 2022. Versatile enough to play Safety + ST.@LanceB_1 met w/ 32 teams informally at Combine/@ShrineBowl. Boykin had Formal w. #49ers, recent virtuals w/ #Bengals + #Raiders.https://t.co/XRNu5nmZki
