The Buffalo Bills are set at safety in 2023. Beyond that, things could be addressed and Alabama’s Jordan Battle might fit the bill.
According to theScore, Battle had a pre-draft visit in Buffalo ahead of the 2023 NFL draft:
#Alabama safety Jordan Battle is visiting the #Bills today, source tells @theScore.
I spoke with a veteran NFL scout about Battle, a 2x First-Team All-SEC performer: “He’s really good in coverage. Ball-hawking safety who tracks the ball naturally. Pretty willing tackler as well.… pic.twitter.com/KsES6TQUVJ

Battle, a senior, had 71 tackles and two passes defended for Alabama in 2022. In 52 career games, he had six interceptions.
The Draft Network profiles Battle as a player that is a fit for Buffalo’s defense. Head coach Sean McDermott loves his defensive backs to be versatile and that’s what describes Battle’s skill set. The 6-foot-1 defender also plays downhill well, much like the Bills’ current duo of Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
Speaking of Poyer and Hyde, while both will be back in 2023 after Poyer re-signed, it could be their last in Buffalo.
Both will be over 32 years old next year and even if another year or so comes after next season, a long-term solution needs to be in place. Battle might be part of that, as the Bills are only allocated a certain amount of pre-draft visits each year and the team chose to use one on him.
