Texas A&M has recruited some of the more elite running back prospects during head coach Jimbo Fishers’ time with the program, most recently securing the talents of 2023 five-star back Reuben Owens, who is already in competition for the starting spot next season.
On Friday, the Aggies continued the forge ahead in the 2024 cycle, sending an offer to 4-star running back Kedren Young out of Lufkin, Texas. Staying true to their strength of recruiting in-state talent, specifically on offense, Young is a rare commodity in the backfield, possessing game-breaking speed and power while rushing for 1,751 yards and 19 touchdowns during his 2022 junior season.

According to 247Sports, Kedren Young is ranked as the 21st running back prospect in the country, and the 46-ranked player in Texas. Standing at 5-10 and 220 lbs, Young is listed as the preferred size for a three-down back, especially in the SEC. As of now, Texas A&M may have a slight advantage after Young’s unofficial visit to College Station on Jan. 28th, though he is also scheduled to take an official visit to Notre Dame early this summer on June 2nd.
