The transfer portal continues to be a busy place for Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks. After seeing Kel’el Ware and Lök Wur announce that they would be leaving the team earlier this offseason, the Ducks are now in a position where they might land a talented player and bring him to Eugene.
Former Georgia Bulldogs Kario Oquendo has been a notable name in the portal, and he announced this week that going forward, he is going to focus on just a few schools who are recruiting him, mentioning the Ducks as one of them.
The 6-foot-4 guard entered the portal soon after it opened in mid-March after having spent the past two seasons at Georgia, starting 59 games, after one year in the JUCO ranks where he played a season at Florida Southwestern State, the same school that new Oregon guard Jadrian Tracey came from.
Oquendo led Georgia in scoring during the 2021 season, and was the No. 2 leading scorer in 2023, averaging 12.7 PPG. He is also considering Auburn, Utah, and Nebraska.
